Just after the Tsunami pulled back:

You can see the level the wave reached, all the way up till the bathroom windows on the SECOND FLOOR. Later we found a rabbit fish (still alive) in this bathroom.

We are very lucky that the main structure is still standing, just because the water could easily find its way out of the building (thanks to all the empty space in the design, P.)

The lower roof was totally lifted by the water and now has holes on all connection points. The wooden stairs and walkway in the back are gone.

All doors, also the ones inside, 1 wall and quite some windows were blown away.

Everything from the entrance and sitting area was swept away; folding doors, books, computers, teaching materials, chairs, tables, fridges, it was totally cleared out.

Even the stored engines were taken by the wave and blown to the back of the shop.

Day 1 Cleaning, cleaning:

Getting the sand out of the compressor room

and the toilets

And looking for equipment, tanks, furniture, doors and window parts all over the beach. Part of the diving equipment is found back: we'll be known as the dive shop with the non matching pairs of fins....

Draped over the washing basins, you see the tree which saved Ton & Marjan's life.

Day 2

Trying to wash the sand off. Salt and sand gets into everything. No pump, no more fresh water though.

Day 2

Lucky is making a new walk way to the toilets and showers in the back of the building.

Day 4

Making temporary doors to close the shop.

All support and well wishes helped us decide to go on with Lumba Lumba Diving Centre. The big uncertainty is still how much damage has been done to our compressor, the heart of the dive operation. It has been under 5 m of seawater, pressing the salt everywhere.

It's washed with pure "Aqua", but we'll have to wait till electricity will be restored to check it out.
