Stay n Relax in Gapang Beach

Gapang Beach is an unique beach, with white sand halfway around the bay, surrounded by large overhanging trees; the 'Gapang' trees. So you can choose to sit on the beach in the sun, or in the shade of these grand old trees.

With a great house reef in front of the diveshop and a couple of resident turles living in the bay, it's a perfect place for snorkeling and long relaxed shore dives.

Gapang offers a wide choice in accommodation on Pulau Weh, from basic wooden huts on the beach, or nice simple bungalows at Dang Dang Na next to the diveshop or at Ramadilla spread along the hill overlooking the bay to wooden bungalows with springbeds, mandi-style bathrooms, fans or AC in a garden setting at the entrance to the beach at Leguna or Flamboyan. Prices ranges from 3,50 to 25 € (Euro) per night.

Lumba Lumba Living for the most comfortable stay on Pulau Weh

	We have 7 newly built duplex) cottages spread out behind and next to the diveshop on the beach, offering 11 apartement units for our divers. The Lumba Lumba Living Rooms are very spaciously set up, with good spring beds (Twin and King size beds available), a wall fan, a nice clean bathroom with western toilet, shower and indonesian style mandi (convenient for testing camera housings ;-), a pantry with water kettle, cups & plates, a fridge and rinsing basin, a wide wooden veranda with sliding doors, facing the sea/beach. New budget rooms: Lumba Lumba Living Colours

		Since September 2009 we also offer budget rooms. The Living Colours Rooms are in a longhouse higher up the hill in the back of our land. The colourful, cozy, compact rooms have 2 springbeds, a wallfan, a cupboard, 2 chairs and a table, and a balcony. There are 4 rooms with shared toilet and shared shower facilities and 2 rooms with attached private bathrooms.

Enjoy your meal

On Gapang there are six restaurants on the beach to choose from. CoCo's, Mama Jungle's, Dat's Zero Cafe, Buchari's Limbo Restaurant, Gapang Jaya restaurant, and Dang Dang Na Restaurant are open for breakfast, lunch and dinners.

There's choice from local Acehnese food, more general Indonesian dishes, tropical fruit salads and some basic Western food such as pancakes, sandwiches, french fries and Kentucky fried chicken for example. Local versions of spaghetti or taco/pastry are also recommendable. Also it's possible to order other special meals beforehand, such as BBQ Fish. (All fish on Pulau Weh is extremely fresh, so some people really fancy our tuna for making sashimi themselves.)

Achenese "family food" is served in Mama Jungle's restaurant. Also the Warung Walet up the road, close to the resorts serves everyday fresh cheap and very tasty local food: rice, vegetables, fried fish, tempe, delicious fish or chicken curry's and noodles.

Beer and a few kinds of the local Indonesian brands of "firewater" are usually available on the beach.
